1.Applied Monitoring

The field of sensor networks focuses on the delivery of information across diverse networks, but tends not to consider the data or its reason for being. This special call moves from the confines of the network and explores the data and the sensing methodology surrounding it. With the advent of ubiquitous and powerful microcontrollers the ability to assimilate large quantities of data is trivial and commonplace.

2. Mobile Video Delivery over Broadband Wireless

Video services are now set to dominate wireless network traffic, which were once given over to voice and data delivery. With the arrival of enhanced broadband wireless technologies such as IEEE.802.16e,m, 3G Long Term Evolution (LTE) and LTE-Advanced, there is sufficient capacity to support multicast and unicast video streaming, and interactive services such as mobile video conferencing and videophone, if latency issues can be resolved.
